After the law and the writings of the prophets were read in the synagogue, Paul was asked to speak if he had any word of exhortation for the people. Paul took this opportunity and, instead of laying out more things that people must do, preached the word of salvation that God had given. Whenever we hear the Bible, it is easy for us to look first for what more we must accomplish, but before that, we must know who fulfilled the salvation God promised and how, and we must believe in Him. This sermon of Paul shows that way.
