In Iconium, a multitude arose who believed in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, and those who did not believe stirred up the minds of other people and made them harbor ill will against the brethren. When we who preach the gospel meet such things, it is easy for us to worry first whether we have spoken wrongly, but what we must examine first is not changing the content of salvation to fit people’s responses, but whom we rely on and what word we preach.
