In Lystra, when a man stood up and walked, the multitude called Paul and Barnabas gods and tried to sacrifice to them. Even after seeing an amazing work, their hearts did not turn to God, who had done that work, but they tried to exalt men. We too, when we receive help or see a special work, can have our hearts captured by the person who became its channel. The reason we hear the gospel of the water and the Spirit is not to exalt people, but to know the living God and to turn to Him.
