The brothers in Troas gathered together on the day before Paul departed, broke bread, and heard the word. At that gathering Eutychus fell and died, but in the end they brought the young man in alive and received great comfort. As we read this scene, which went from sorrow in the middle of the night to comfort, we must look to the Lord, who bestows life in the midst of the Church. The ability and godliness of those who gather do not give life to the Church; rather, the Lord, who saved sinners, is the life and the comfort of the Church.
