Let us read verse 11. “But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, ‘Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome’” (Acts 23:11). The words of the people who had caused the commotion did not become the last word on Paul’s life. The Lord whom he served stood by Paul and spoke to him directly. People were holding Paul as a prisoner, but Jesus spoke of him as a person who had testified of His work. Even when we are evaluated by people as we serve the Lord, we must not forget this relationship. We must confirm again from the word of the Lord to whom we belong and whose work we preach.
